Android app development
For products that need to reach the full range of Android hardware, from budget handsets to foldables and tablets, we build native apps in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose.
How the work is done
We start from the devices your audience actually uses and agree a minimum API level, a performance budget and a testing matrix before any code is written. The app is split into feature modules with a clear data layer, so screens can be built in parallel and tested in isolation.
Camera, file, background work and notification features are built on the platform’s current APIs and permission model. The build stays compatible with Google Play’s target API requirements, so updates are not blocked by a policy deadline.

Common questions
Which Android versions do you support?
We agree a minimum API level at the start, based on your audience and the features you need. Each older version adds testing effort, so the trade-off is set out before development begins.
Do you write Kotlin or Java?
New code is written in Kotlin. We also work in existing Java codebases and migrate them to Kotlin module by module when that is agreed.
Can you take over an existing Android app?
Yes. We begin with a code review and a written report on build health, dependencies and risks, then agree a plan with you.
